There are many things to consider, take the time to go through what you need to take into account before ordering or printing your own wedding invitations, it may save you making a costly mistake.
Wedding invitation tips:
- Match your wedding invitations to your your wedding style. Your wedding invitations are setting the scene. They are the first teaser for your guests and first impressions count. Traditional black text on quality ivory or white card stock for a traditional style wedding. For more modern themed styles choose a wedding invitation style that fits in with your wedding theme.

- How many you will need? One per address is fine. Then a few extra, just in case.
- Check and double check wording before printing. Get a couple of people to proof your invite wording for you to be on the safe side.
- Not inviting children? Make it clear on the invitation, but try to be gentle.
- Wedding envelopes traditionally would be hand written in black ink, get practising early if you want to use your calligraphy skills and make sure to get extra envelopes in case of mistakes.

- RSVPs – Always add an RSVP by date on the invite or RSVP itself. This may be driven by a supplier or the venue for catering numbers. Ask for RSVPs to be returned before you need them, to allow time to chase up non-responders, there will always be a few.
